Early 2023 we were looking for a stone mason to undertake extensive repairs to the west wall of our Edinburgh tenement. Having been abandoned at the 11th hour by the stone masons first contracted to do this work, we had the great good fortune of finding Ogilvie Stonecraft. Previous poor workmanship had resulted in crumbling sandstone and blown cement rendering. Stewart and his team did a sterling job of repairing the wall. They are skilled stone masons in addition to being friendly and hard working while respecting deadlines and keeping us informed of progress. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Stewart and his team have worked on a couple of fairly big jobs for us: repointing of our front wall and the taking down and rebuilding of a large retaining wall at the back of our property. Stewart is professional , his work is to a very high standard and he is very personable and approachable. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent work sensitively done rebuilding 200-year-old walls destabilised and damaged by tree growth, as well as re-pointing and improving steps using original stone found on site. Mr Ogilvie was a pleasure to deal with, communicated well by email, and proved flexible and accommodating as the work expanded beyond its original spec. Compared with similar work they had supervised recently, our factor described his rates as “fair and reasonable”.
